QUESTION
Does the Advanced Workflow Engine (AWE) module work with an Oracle database?
ANSWER
Yes. Oracle databases are supported with EFT Server Enterprise. As with all Event Rule actions, AWE workflows are audited to the Auditing and Reporting Module (ARM) database and can appear in logs and reports, regardless of the type of database in use.*
For all Event Rule actions, the following information is audited:
-
Timestamp
-
Site name
-
Event name
-
Action type (such as Move, Copy, OpenPGP, or Send Email)
-
Action parameters
These are the runtime values passed to the action (not replacement variables). For AWE workflows, this includes the path to the temporary file associated with the executed workflow. If debug logging is enabled for the workflow, this file contains additional diagnostic details.
-
Failed action flag
Indicates whether the action was executed as part of a failure sequence from a previous action.
-
Action result code

* To connect EFT Server to any database, the appropriate database client drivers must be installed on the EFT Server system. If the required Oracle client software (drivers) is installed, AWE can use the database connection string to connect to the Oracle database. Refer to the System Requirements documentation for details on supported Oracle drivers.
