Assigning Workspace Permissions

DISCUSSION

When an EFT AD site is configured and AD users are granted strict permissions to files/folders, and a Workspace is created for a folder, external EFT users will share the folder owner's permissions. However, if the EFT administrator changes the permissions from within the administration interface (Workspaces section of the VFS tab) they can grant less restrictive permissions to external users than what the owner has.

For example, suppose the Workspaces owner is granted Read and List permissions to a folder and is unable to rename or delete the contents of a folder. If the owner creates a Workspace for the folder and gives access to an EFT external user, the external user will share the same permissions as the owner. However, if the EFT administrator then changes the external user's permissions such that they are allowed to delete and rename, the EFT external user is now able to successfully delete/rename files, but the Workspaces owner still cannot.
