THE INFORMATION IN THIS ARTICLE APPLIES TO:

  • EFT Server, v6.x (installed on Windows Vista, 7, 2008, and 2008 R2)

SYMPTOM

When using Novell eDirectory, when browsing the file system over HTTP or HTTPS protocols, EFT Server sometimes returns null or empty directories in directories that were just traversed. (When using SFTP and FTP, EFT Server correctly returns the information.)

WORKAROUND

Edit Novell's autoexec.ncf:

SET LEVEL 2 OPLOCKS ENABLED = OFF
SET CLIENT FILE CACHING ENABLED = OFF

This disables OpLocks and client-side caching of files. This will work on all client versions.

OpLocks can be disabled in IManager also.
