QUESTION

Does EFT support NFS (Network File System)?

ANSWER

It depends on how the NFS share is mounted on the Windows computer. EFT talks to Windows, and if the NFS driver that is used to mount the remote share onto the Windows server works sufficiently well, then EFT will work fine with NFS. EFT will not even know whether it is talking to NFS, Samba, iSCSI, Fiber Channel, etc., because Windows abstracts that within the operating system. EFT uses the Windows API on the topside of Windows and it is up to the Windows NFS driver to function properly on the bottom side of Windows.

One area of interest is Folder Monitor Event Rules. Some customers need to adjust the queue size for Folder Monitor events because of the large number of folders that may be monitored and the typically small size of the queue for certain devices.
