Is there a difference between sending a test email from the Server's SMTP tab and sending an email from an Event Rule?

ANSWER

• The Send Test Email button on the Server's SMTP tab sends email synchronously and directly.
• The Send notification email action in Event Rules can send synchronously or asynchronously:
• If the Stop processing action is specified for a failed action, EFT sends the email synchronously and directly.
• Otherwise, EFT adds the message to a send queue to be sent asynchronously.
