Errors when attempting to use CuteFTP 8 on Windows 95 or Windows 98

THE INFORMATION IN THIS ARTICLE APPLIES TO:

• CuteFTP Pro^® and Home version 8

SYMPTOMS

An attempt to run CuteFTP 8 on Windows 95 or Windows 98, results in one or more of the following errors:

1. A device attached to the system is not functioning.



2. The FILECRYPTIK.DLL file is linked to missing export SHELL32:SHGetFolderPathA.
   
   

   

CAUSE

CuteFTP 8.0.0 is not compatible with Windows 95, Windows 98 or Windows NT.

RESOLUTION

Use a version of CuteFTP prior to 8.0.0.
