Enabling Oracle for EFT Authentication is easy if you meet all prerequisites. However, installing ODAC can be tricky sometimes. Even after installing the correct version described in the help, some people get an error prompt “Connection Failed. Provider cannot be found. It may not be properly installed” when attempting to connect to EFT in the administration interface.

• In versions of EFT before version 8.1, make sure to use the 32-bit version of Oracle Data Access Components (ODAC ) regardless even if you are installing EFT on a 64-bit OS. (Refer to https://kb.globalscape.com/KnowledgebaseArticle10712.aspx.)

• In version 8.1 and later, you must install the 32-bit ODAC drivers for the report writer, AND the 64-bit ODAC drivers so that EFT can work with Oracle. (See also KB #11568, Oracle 64-bit ODAC drivers during EFT upgrade.)
