DISCUSSION

The Preserve remote time stamp setting (In the Advanced Options dialog box of the Copy/Move Action and Download Action) behaves differently in EFT Server than it does in WinSCP.

  • EFT Server uses MDTM to determine file information on remote servers. The MDTM response differs greatly from what may show up in the LIST return. Response information for MDTM is GMT per RFC 3659 Section 3.4.
  • WinSCP uses the return data from the LIST command. While this information is useful, it is not consistent between servers and it is not recommended for use in a programmatic function per RFC 959 section 4.1.2.
