QUESTION

How can I run the scripts that are installed with the Secure Ad Hoc Transfer module if I don't have EFT Server Enterprise?

ANSWER

EFT Server Enterprise provides a Scheduler (Timer) Event Rule with which you can schedule EFT Server to run the "SendUploadNotification.wsf" and "EFTDeleteExpiredUsers.wsf" scripts. If you did not purchase EFT Server Enterprise, you can schedule the scripts using the Windows Scheduled Task Wizard.

In Windows XP and 2003:

To schedule a new task:
  1. Click Start > Run.
  2. In the Run dialog box, type control schedtasks, then press ENTER. The Scheduled Tasks dialog box appears.
  3. Double-click Add Scheduled Task to start the Scheduled Task Wizard, and then click Next in the first dialog box. The next dialog box displays a list of programs that are installed on your computer, either as part of the operating system, or as a result of software installation.
  4. Because you want to run a script, not a program, click Browse.
  5. Browse to C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\EFTAdhoc\Scripts, click the script that you want to schedule (SendUploadNotification.wsf or EFTDeleteExpiredUsers.wsf), then click Open.
  6. Type a name for the task, and then specify how frequently to run the script: Daily, Weekly, Monthly, One time only, When my computer starts (before a user logs on), When I log on (only after the current user logs on)
  7. Click Next, specify the day and time to run the task, then click Next.
  8. Note that the information about the day and time to run the task vary depending on the selection that you made in the previous wizard dialog box. For example, if you chose Weekly, you must indicate the day of the week, the time, and if the task should run every week, every 2 weeks, every 3 weeks, and so on.

  9. By default, the wizard selects the name of the user who is currently logged on. Type the name and password of the user who is associated with this task. Make sure that you choose a user with sufficient permissions to run the program.
  10. Click Next, and then click Finish after you verify the choices that you have made.
  11. Repeat the process for the other script, if needed.

In Windows 2008:

  1. Click Start > Run.
  2. In the Run dialog box, type control schedtasks, then press ENTER. The Task Scheduler appears.
  3. In the Actions pane, click Create Basic Task. The Create Basic Task Wizard appears.
  4. Provide a name and a description for the task, then click Next.
  5. Specify when you want the task to start: Daily, Weekly, Monthly, One time only, When the computer starts (before a user logs on), When I log on (only after the current user logs on), When a specific event is logged, then click Next.
  6. Specify the start date and time, and how frequently it should recur, then click Next. (Options change depending on what you specified on the previous page.) Select the Universal time check box if the time specified is GMT/UT.
  7. On the Action page, click Start a program, then click Next.
  8. On the Start a Program page, click Browse.
  9. Browse to C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\EFTAdhoc\Scripts, click the script that you want to schedule (SendUploadNotification.wsf or EFTDeleteExpiredUsers.wsf), then click Open.
  10. Click Next, then click Finish.
  11. Repeat the process for the other script, if needed.
