SYMPTOM

The Job Administration web interface will not open in Firefox.

RESOLUTION

The Job Administration web interface opens in your default browser. On some systems, even though you have set Firefox as the default browser (by clicking Tools > Options > General tab and selecting the Always check to see if Firefox is the default browser on startup check box), Firefox still is not seen as the default browser.

To open the Job Administration web interface in Firefox

  1. Click Start > Run.
  2. In the Run dialog box, type or paste the following text:
  3. firefox.exe -silent -setDefaultBrowser

  4. Click OK. You will not receive any indication that the process has completed, except that the system might be temporarily unresponsive.
  5. Reboot the computer.
  6. When the computer comes back up, open the Job Administration web interface. Firefox should now open as your default browser and display the Job Administration web interface.

For more information about setting Firefox as the default browser, refer to http://kb.mozillazine.org/Default_browser.
