QUESTION

What happens if a user of EFT Web Transfer Client needs to access EFT through a proxy, and the proxy is using Windows authentication?

ANSWER

The WTC *should* support NTLM authentication for the proxy; however, it is not done automatically. Instead, the user is prompted for authentication against the proxy server after first authenticating against EFT. That is, the browser itself should be able to connect to EFT and then accept a username and password; then, after EFT Web Transfer Client is loaded into the browser, the user is prompted to enter the proxy username and password (in this case, the Windows credentials) so that EFT Web Transfer Client can communicate across the Proxy Server.
